10,000 Euro Study Abroad Grant for Young Artists: Nov. 15 Deadline!

    Jean-Claude Reynal Foundation - 2011 Jean-Claude Reynal Scholarship

    A 10,000 EUR grant awarded to a young artist for studies abroad
    Deadline: 15th November 2011.

    The Jean-Claude Reynal Foundation, under the auspices of the Foundation of France, in collaboration with the Fine Arts School of Bordeaux, offers an annual grant of 10,000 EUR to enable a young artist, who works directly on paper, to travel to a country of his/her choice for a period of 6 months maximum.

    Conditions
    Candidates must be between 20 and 30 years of age and have had an artistic practice on paper for at least two years. All artists are eligible regardless of educational background or nationality.
    50% of the scholarship mondy will be paid before departure and 50% at the time and place of the residency. The prize winner authorizes the Reynal Foundation to use a work of his/her choice on the media announcing the following year's scholarship competition. The chosen work will be approved by the executive committee.

    2. upload your portfolio as a PDF or PowerPoint file, or as a zipped folder (maximum filesize: 10 MB).

    Schedule
    Deadline for online registration: 15th of November 2011.
    A first examination and selection will take place in the beginning of December.
    The selected artists will have to send three original works on paper (drawings or prints of all kinds), the dimensions of which must not exceed 40 × 60 cm (15-¾ × 23-⅝ in.).
    Works must be sent or hand-delivered no later than the 15th of January 2012 to:

Research Fellowships for Artists, Scholars and Curators at the Henry Moore Institute in England

    (ARTISTS, SCHOLARS & CURATORS) Research Fellowships at the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds, England—The Henry Moore Institute is a world-recognized centre for the study of sculpture in the heart of Leeds and invites applications for the following fellowship programmes in 2012–2013:

    Research Fellowships are intended for artists, scholars and curators, working on historic and contemporary sculpture using the Institute’s library, archive of sculptors’ papers and the collection of Leeds Art Gallery. Up to four fellows will be given the opportunity to spend a month in Leeds to develop their own research. With access to our resources and an on-going dialogue with the Institute staff, fellows are free to pursue their own interests in a supportive and stimulating environment.

    Senior Fellowships are intended to give established scholars (working on any aspect of sculpture) time and space to develop a research project free from their usual work commitments. Up to two senior fellowships, for periods of between four to six weeks will be offered.
    Both fellowships provide accommodation, travel expenses and a per diem. The Institute offers the possibility of presenting finished research in published form, as a seminar, or as a small exhibition.

    (ARTISTS & MEDIA ARTISTS) ArtsLink Residencies in the US for Visual and Media Artists and Art Managers - Deadline October 15, 2011!

    ArtsLink Residencies offers structured residencies for artists and arts managers from 32 eligible countries. The five-week residencies in visual and media arts and arts management will take place in Fall 2012. ArtsLink places Fellows at established US non-profit arts organizations and covers associated living, working, travel, and health insurance costs. Applicants do not need to have contacts with organizations in the US to apply for this program, but working knowledge of English is required. Since 1993, 453 Fellows have participated in Residencies at 223 arts organizations throughout the US.

    (WRITERS & SCHOLARS) The Leon Levy Center for Biography Fellowships at The Graduate Center, CUNY, offers four resident fellowships for the academic year, beginning September 2012. Awards include writing space, full access to research facilities, and a liberal stipend. In the coming fellowship round, preference will be given to emerging biographers.

    The project will host a number of residencies per year, each
    of a one-month duration, and each taking place in a different apartment in one of the 20 arrondissements of Paris. A residency period is concluded with an event/presentation by the artist, as well as a small publication. Furthermore the artist will be featured in VINGT Paris Magazine. The residency is open to artists working in all mediums, be it drawing, installation,
    photography, video, sculpture, painting, performance, writing or other. The next forthcoming residency period is November 20, 2011 - December 20, 2011. Deadline October 19, 2011.

    (SONGWRITERS/MUSICIANS) Island Hill House Artist Residency
    The goal of the Hill House Residency is to support talented emerging songwriters, writers at all stages of their career and non-studio artists (see a more complete definition below) with a two, three or four week stay in a semi-secluded log cabin near East Jordan, Michigan. The residency lasts a

    BADGAST is a research based artist in residency at the coast of The Hague/Scheveningen where Satellietgroep invites artists and scientists to develop and present research that articulates a cultural, innovative and sustainable significance of the sea and its coasts.     (ALL) CDA-Projects Grant for Research in Turkey. CDA is offering a 10,000 Euro grant to support the production of artistic research projects in Turkey.

    Eligibility

    Authors (includes artists, curators, writers, thinkers etc…) of any nationality, regardless of age, can propose projects to be carried out individually or collectively. Applicants can submit an artistic research project that is currently in the production stage or one that is scheduled to be completed during the six-month period following the date of selection.
