Kate Middleton to Cover 'Vogue'

Vogue's editrix, Anna Wintour, has set her sight on a new cover girl: the lovely Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. According to New York Post's Page Six, the queen of Vogue has been wholeheartedly campaigning for Kate to grace the cover of the fashion bible.

Anna has been in cahoots with legendary photographer, Mario Testino (conveniently the same photographer to shoot Kate and William's engagement photos), in hopes that he can coerce the Duchess into a shoot with him. Vogue, however, is far from the only mag to be pinning after Kate. The brunette beauty already turned down a spread in British Vogue, the most likely place for her editorial debut.

What makes Kate such a covetable cover girl? Aside from the lingering royal wedding frenzy (proven by a record-breaking 354,000 visitors to Buckingham palace since the display of Kate's McQueen wedding gown), Anna simply regales in the Duchess' elegant style. "There's nothing trashy or vulgar about her. She dresses her age and never looks out of place," Anna states.

Anna's quest, however, is not a simple one: approval from the palace is required. But if anyone can snag a Kate cover, it's her. We'll be eagerly awaiting the momentous occasion.
